SIBO: An Enigmatic Epiphenomenon

What if SIBO is a symptom of another condition and NOT a disease unto itself? Given that SIBO is a disruption of the gut microbiome, which influences most physiological processes within the body, it is imperative that we connect the dots between symptoms of SIBO and conditions that are risk factors for small intestinal chronic dysbiosis, such as structural abnormalities like diverticulosis, chronic systemic conditions like diabetes and connective tissue disorders, motility syndromes like Crohn's, and use of certain medications, like proton pump inhibitors and frequent antibiotics.
