Sleep is the missing link in the functional medicine equation. When we talk about sleep, we often focus on quantity as it relates to the body’s ability to recover from concussion, achieve optimum athletic performance levels, or heal from chronic conditions. However, we often neglect the role quality sleep plays in brain health; specifically, its inks to poor memory, trouble concentrating, age-related dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.
